Part of the training of medical students is done in a hospital setting and currently Soroti regional referral hospital is being used for the clinical sessions. However, the increasing number of programs and students means the teaching space at the referral hospital is inadequate hence the need to identify other health facilities within the region.

Management therefore dispatched a technical team to identify potential clinical sites starting with the visit to Katakwi general hospital to carry out on spot assessment of the hospital.
