Soroti University is set to host this year’s Association of Uganda University Sports for their annual meeting this week. The meeting under the theme concretising the strategic path for AUUS has drawn participants from all the universities in Uganda.
Deans of students, sports tutors, games, and sports ministers of the students’ guild bodies will on the 29th of this month descent to Teso based Soroti University for the three-day meeting aimed at discussing among others the importance of strategy in institutional sports management, strategic framework, AUUS strategic situation analysis.
Understanding the new sports law, Opportunities, and challenges, Launching the AUUS strategic plan 2024-2029 plan among others.
The three days event will be graced by the dignitaries in the sports fraternity which includes the head education commission Dr Agnes Baluka Massajja, Ms. Peninnah Kabenge, the Association of Uganda University Sports president among other guests.
The host of the event and the dean of students Soroti University said they are happy to have been chosen to host this year’s event. Adding that last year’s annual AUUs meeting was hosted by Bishop Stuart university in Mbarara after Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi.
“Next year’s host will be decided during the Soroti University meeting” Okot Zaitun the dean of students Soroti University added. Association of Uganda University Sports is a body that governs all the university sports in the country.
