Soroti University continues to strengthen its global academic presence after Dr John Bosco Niyomukiza, a Lecturer in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, participated in scholarly engagements at Universitas Diponegoro in Semarang, Indonesia.
Dr Niyomukiza, who is an external examiner for PhD candidate at Universitas Diponegoro, participated in the 8th International Conference on Environment, Sustainability Issues, and Community Development (INCRID) from 29 August to 10 September 2026
Delivering a keynote speech on sustainable geotechnical practices
At the conference, he delivered a keynote address on sustainable geotechnical practices and presented a paper on transitioning towards green construction and EDGE certification.
His participation provided an opportunity to share innovative approaches to slope stabilisation and green infrastructure, while establishing professional networks with researchers from different parts of the world.
