Golden dodder (Cuscuta epithymum) is a parasitic plant species belonging to the morning glory family (Convolvulaceae). Also known as yellow dodder, golden thread, love vine, strangle weed is yellowish orange thread like stems found in fields across Teso. It obtains nutrients by parasitizing host plants reducing plant growth by decreasing water and nutrient uptake and eventually killing the host plant.

The host president, Uganda Medical Laboratory Technology Association, Mr. Alibu Dennis Partick in his keynote address welcomed his counterparts from the region and shared experiences from his vast encounters across the continent in the field of Laboratory technology.
The conference which started from 7th-9th Nov 2024 ended with a call for continuous professional training and research in the latest laboratory technology in medicine.
