After successfully fulfilling the requirements for accreditation, Soroti University is set to open another program for student admission this academic year.
With the determination to open up more programs and increase enrolment, Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering will now be advertised for students enrolment in the 2025/2026 academic year. This will bring the total number of accredited program offered by Soroti university to seven.
In a communication signed by Rev.Canon Dr. Alex M. Kagume for the Executive Director NCHE, the program has been approved and will run for 9 years before reviews are carried out.
Other programs under accreditation and review processes include Bachelor of Science Midwifery, Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Bachelor of Biosecurity and Biosafety, and Bachelor of Science Education
Soroti university is also in the final stages of starting master programs. Master of Public health and Master of Medicine in Pathology curriculums already in place waiting accreditation.
With support from Federation of African Women Educationist, (FAWE), Soroti university next coming academic year is set to launch the Higher Education Access Program. A bridging one-year program for students who completed advanced level of education and would wish to improve their academic grades to be eligible to pursue degree programs at universities.
