Soroti University is set to mount another program under the School of Engineering.
The proposed course set to be launched is Bachelor of Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering as contained in the document submitted to national council for higher education team who visited the university for inspection.
Speaking during the visit to the university, the team leader from the NCHE Dr. Catherine Wandera said there is need for universities to improve the quality of training that fit into the academics and social life arenas.

The team was last week in Soroti university to inspect the infrastructure assembled by the university for the second Engineering course under the school of engineering. This will be the seventh course open for admission of students.
Last academic year Soroti university added more three programs that is Bachelor of science in Physiotherapy, Medical laboratory science and Bachelor of Science Accounting Finance and computing into the growing list of courses offered at the Soroti City based university.

Accreditation exercise is a critical exercise to be conducted by a team of professionals from NCHE before any University is allowed to admit students to the program.
Once the university receives a letter of no objection, Soroti university will therefore advertise for students to apply for the course.
