Soroti University (SUN) wishes to inform all prospective Graduands for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 Academic Years, parents/guardians, and the general public that the 1st Graduation Ceremony will be held on:

📍 Venue: Graduation Pavilion (Roundabout)
⏰ Time: 8:00 a.m.
📡 Livestream: The event will be streamed live through the University’s official social media platforms. Livestream links will be shared on the website: www.sun.ac.ug
LIST OF GRADUANDS
The graduation list was published on the University website following Senate approval on Tuesday, 25th November 2025.
Graduands are required to:
- Verify the spelling and order of their names.
- Report any corrections to the Academic Registrar immediately.
Deadline: All name confirmation requests must be submitted by Friday, 5th December 2025.
Names not confirmed by this date will be printed as they appear in the provisional graduation list.
Note: No amendments will be accepted after this deadline.
GRADUATION & CONVOCATION FEES
Graduands should obtain a Payment Reference Number (PRN) by clicking the “Pay for Form” button on the University website.
Payments should be made at any bank authorized by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

Note: Only students who have cleared all fees by the set deadline will appear on the final graduation list.

ACADEMIC ATTIRE
- Academic attire will be issued to Graduands who have completed payment. Gowns must be purchased from Soroti University and remain the property of the graduand.
- Distribution of gowns will run from 3rd December 2025 to 11th December 2025.
- No gown rentals will be provided. Purchasing an academic gown is a mandatory requirement for participating in the ceremony.
GRADUATION BOOKLET
A hard copy of the graduation booklet will be issued on the graduation day.
A digital copy will also be available on the University website: www.sun.ac.ug
INVITATION CARDS
Each graduand will receive one invitation card admitting two (2) parents/guardians/sponsors to the graduation grounds.
- Admission is strictly by invitation only.
- Graduands and their two guests must present their invitation cards at the gate.
- All Graduands must be seated by 8:00 a.m. in full academic attire over formal wear.
COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES
Certificates and official transcripts will be available for collection from the Office of the Academic Registrar (Academic Affairs) immediately after the graduation ceremony.
PUNCTUALITY NOTICE
All Graduands and invited guests are advised to be seated at the Graduation Pavilion by 8:30 a.m. to avoid disruptions.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following items will not be allowed at the ceremony:
- Mobile phones
- Alcohol
- Dangerous weapons
- Canned food and drinks
- Cameras (video or still)
- Pocket radios
- Firearms
- Large bags
- Batteries, chemicals
- Bottled drinks
