The Uganda dean of students’ forum (UDOSF) an association that brings together Dean of students from universities and tertiary institutions in Uganda have elected their first female dean as the next chairperson for 2024-2028.
Ms. Amandru Stella the Dean of students Muni University was elected during the annual general meeting which took place in Soroti University. She becomes the first female dean of students to lead the Association.
Other members of the new executive elected to office include Mr. Amos Tukamusheba from Kabale University as the vice chairperson of the forum. General secretary went to Emma Achieng of Lira University as treasurer was taken by Mugalu Augustine of Kampala University. Roseline Ssali of Mountains of the Moon university is the new publicity secretary of UDOSF while Medard Nabbasa of Cavendish university is the vice general secretary.
Ms. Okot Zaitun, dean of students Soroti university was elected as a member representing public universities while Busobozi David is representing the private universities in the forum. Edmond Mugalu of Entebbe fisheries institute was elected to represent the tertiary institutions.
Several presenters delivered thrilling presentations to the audience on topics to enhance their knowledge in areas like “embracing technology advancement; the evolution of online learning in higher education. Strengthening administration and student collaboration to achieve strategic objectives of the university among others.
Renown motivational speaker Dr. Richard Mpango, a senior lecturer in the school of health science Soroti university delivered a lecture on building resilience, adoptability and coping mechanisms at campus as the Executive director Enterprise Uganda Mr. Charles Ocici delivered a thrilling discussion on Fostering innovation and Entrepreneurship, Cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset among students.
