Freshers Begin Lectures as Soroti University Starts New Academic Year

Today, Soroti University’s new students (freshers) begin a new chapter as the first week of lectures starts. This academic year, Soroti University admitted a combined total of 900 students for different programs currently run by the university, with several others put on the waiting list.

The academic registrar, Mr Gregory James Okello, has advised the admitted students to report for the start of the academic year.

“The joining instructions will be followed, and students who have not reported within two weeks shall be deemed to have forfeited their place; students on the waiting list shall be considered”, he said.

He encouraged parents and guardians to make sure that the students are settled early to avoid missing lectures, as that can contribute to poor academic performance.
