Over the past year, the intern doctors have been deployed in various hospitals in the country where they gain hands-on experience in patient care, diagnosis, treatment, emergency response and clinical decision-making under the supervision of experienced healthcare professionals.
The training has equipped them with practical skills and professional competencies necessary to serve communities across Uganda. Throughout the internship period, these fresh graduates work tirelessly in departments including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, contributing to the delivery of healthcare services while strengthening their clinical knowledge and confidence.

Their dedication and commitment are required to navigate the demands of the medical profession as they prepare for the responsibilities that lie ahead. The internship also offers them the opportunity to understand where their heart lies to professionalize.
It provides students with the opportunity to engage with diverse patient populations, understand the realities of healthcare delivery and develop the compassion and ethical standards required of medical practitioners.
As they prepare to conclude their internship, they pledge to uphold the values of professionalism, integrity and service as they embark on the next phase of their medical careers.
The completion of the internship program represents another important achievement as the doctors are expected to join the country’s health workforce, bringing with them fresh knowledge, enthusiasm and a commitment to quality patient care.
