The Uganda Library and Information Association (ULIA), the professional body representing the interests of Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals in Uganda, is once again committed to advancing the knowledge and skills of information workers across the country. This year, ULIA has organized regional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops specifically designed for librarians, records officers, registry staff, administrative personnel, and other information management professionals.
In an exciting development for the Eastern Region, Soroti University has been selected to host this year’s CPD. The event, to be held through the university’s Library department, aims to equip participants with the latest tools, techniques, and insights needed to manage information efficiently in today’s dynamic world.
Ms. Barbra Apolot, the Head of Library Services at Soroti University and the ULIA Eastern Region representative, expresses her enthusiasm about hosting the event. She emphasizes the importance of such training sessions, particularly for professionals working in the fields of information and records management, as these areas continue to evolve with technological advancements
Participants will have the opportunity to network with peers, share best practices, and gain hands-on experience through a variety of sessions focused on both traditional and digital information management. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or new to the field, the workshop promises to offer valuable learning opportunities that will enhance your capabilities and help you stay ahead in the industry.
